Developed by experienced Pilots of “mature years” in the Natural Health Industry initially to keep them at their optimum level of “Fitness to Fly”, Hibiscus Plus is now Supercharged with Australian Ginger to give you the multiple benefits of two of the most potent local sources of Antioxidants available - Hibiscus Roselle and Australian Ginger
What is Hibiscus Plus ?
Using 100% Australian natural ingredients, HibiscusPlus is a concentrated Superfood that contains a wealth of Nutrients and is built on the traditional Australian Tropical Bush Food of Hibiscus Roselle, now with the added benefits of Australian Tropical Ginger. Supplied as a concenrate powder, you easily sprinkle over cereals, blend with yoghurt or add to bubbly spring water for a cool refreshing health drink.
It's supplied in a powder because a powder requires less digestive energy to assimilate into the body and provides a faster, more efficient release of energy.
Advantages of Hibiscus Plus FATIGUE FIGHTER Superfood:
"There is increasing evidence that antioxidants are more effective when obtained from whole foods, rather than isolated from a food and presented in tablet form". (http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au)
HibiscusPlus contains 18 Micro and Macro-Nutrients, more Vitamins and Minerals than many popular "Energy" drinks.
The Australian organically grown Hibiscus Roselle contains appreciable levels of Vitamin C, minerals, anthocyanins and antioxidant activity. The particular anthocyanins present are two of the most potent athocyanin antioxidants.
Benefits of Antioxidants:
“Antioxidants are compounds in foods that neutralise chemicals called free radicals (unstable molecules), produced by oxidation in the human body. Some conditions caused by free radicals include: deterioration of the eye lens, inflammation of the joints (arthritis), damage to nerve cells in the brain, acceleration of the ageing process. What’s in HibiscusPlus ?
Our main active ingredient is Hibiscus Roselle, and is made from the core essences extracted from the Calyx of the flower and rich in Anthocyanin Antioxidants, It’s the same essence that bees are attracted to pollinate
Our second synergistic ingredient is Australian grown Ginger, sourced the tropics, also reich in Antioxidants. Ginger aids digestion and the body's use and absorption of other nutrients.

A Multitude of Benefits:
In Food Safety of Australian Plant Bushfoods (RIDC 2001) Drs M.P. & E.E.Hegarty and Prof Ron Wills state:
“.....there appear to be few reports of adverse effects of consuming rosella calyces, and even fewer that have been unequivocally supported by testing. There is, however, a multitude of claims in folk-medicine for the medicinal effectiveness of preparations from this species, many of which are listed at: http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop//duke_energy/Hibiscus_sabdariffa.html
Many such claims have been undergoing stringent testing (e.g. Leung & Foster 1996). Other important and well-researched claims are for antihypertensive action (Jonadet et al 1990; Duke 1983, 1992 a, b) antioxidant activity (attributed to protocatechuic acid, Tseng et al. 1996), and absence of mutagenicity to some organisms (Duh & Yen 1997)".
“Roselle is an important source of vitamins, minerals, and bioactive compounds, such as organic acids, phytosterols, and polyphenols, some of them with antioxidant properties. The phenolic content in the plant consists mainly of anthocyanins like delphinidin-3-glucoside, sambubioside, and cyanidin-3-sambubioside; other flavonoids like gossypetin, hibiscetin, and their respective glycosides; protocatechuic acid, eugenol, and sterols like -sitoesterol and ergoesterol. Roselle calyx extract is a good source of antioxidants from its anthocyanins.”
African Journal of Food Science, 2012
In a study presented to the Heart Association in 2008, researchers found that Hibiscus Sabdariffa (Roselle) significantly lowered blood pressure in hypertensive adults, acting as a natural angiotensin that opens the arteries slowing the release of hormones that constrict blood vessels. Effective diuretics such as gossypetin, anthocyanins and glycoside hibiscin are found decreasing the viscosity of the blood, reducing blood functions, preventing inflammation and bilious attacks. Simulated ingestion decreases the rate of absorption of alcohol, lessening the intensity of alcohol effects.
Roselle, contains high amounts of antioxidants such as flavonoids which helps our body fight free radicals that can cause cell damage.
Why is Vitamin C good for you?
Dr Tori Hudson:
Historically, folk medicine has used Hibiscus for the treatment of high blood pressure, liver diseases and fevers. In Iran, it is a traditional treatment for high blood pressure which is the focus of several studies, as is cholesterol reduction. Hibiscus has been used historically for high blood pressure and contains several important ingredients including alkaloids, anthocyanins and quercetin. It is thought that the antioxidant and diuretic effects of hibiscus are its most important mechanisms in lowering blood pressure.

“Middle age often brings the wisdom and motivation to take action to ensure you retain your health for as long as possible.”
“High blood pressure is the most common cardiovascular problem in aviation medical examinations.”
